“What a great initiative”, I thought to myself when I heard about Diversity Works. As Manager of the KennisDC Logistiek Gelderland at HAN, I come into contact with a high number of logistics companies and students. The male-female ratio within the logistics sector is completely out of balance. A painful fact, because we know that diversely-composed teams actually perform and function better It is high time that we committed ourselves to greater diversity in the world of logistics training. I see opportunities to do something about the influx by not only looking at the image of logistics, but for us to also focus on the various sectors in which logistics processes are important.
Bringing in, training and transferring female talent to the work field. That is the mission with which I manage the Young Talent programme of Diversity Works, with my colleague Nienke Hofstra.
